NDIS pricing arrangements 2026-27
From 24 September 2026, maximum prices for NDIS supports are set by the NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27, part of the Minister’s first pricing determination. It replaces the price limits part of the old “Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits” guide. Here is what it means when you quote and invoice.
What changed in 2026-27
- Who sets the prices. A 2026 amendment to the NDIS Act lets the Minister for Disability and the NDIS set maximum prices by legislative instrument. The NDIA now advises on pricing.
- The document. Price limits are in the NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27 (PDF and Word) on ndis.gov.au, effective 24 September 2026. The NDIS Support Catalogue 2026-27 spreadsheet lists the same items and prices with the claim types each item allows.
- Claiming guidance. The NDIA says updated pricing and claiming guidance documents will be published shortly. Until then, the latest published rules for travel, cancellations and non-face-to-face work are in the Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits 2025-26.
Sources: ndis.gov.au “Pricing arrangements” page and the NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27, checked 31 October 2026. We compared the schedule with the 2026-27 Support Catalogue used on this site: the prices match for all 609 items listed in both.
Who the price limits apply to
The maximum prices apply when the participant’s funding is NDIA-managed or plan-managed. For those participants the NDIA can’t pay more than the limit and providers can’t charge more. All limits already include any GST. For self-managed participants the limits don’t apply.
Which price applies: location
| Where the support is delivered | Price limit |
|---|---|
| MM 1–5 (cities, regional centres, rural towns) | National |
| MM 6, or an isolated town reclassified as remote | Remote |
| MM 7, or an isolated town reclassified as very remote | Very Remote |
Location is the place the support happens, not the participant’s home address. If no remote amount is listed for an item, it has no remote loading.
Which price applies: day and time
For support worker supports (Appendix 1 of the schedule), the time band decides the item number and limit:
| Band | Definition |
|---|---|
| Weekday daytime | Starts at or after 6 am and ends by 8 pm on a single weekday |
| Weekday evening | Starts at or after 8 pm and finishes by midnight on a weekday |
| Weekday night | Starts by midnight and finishes after midnight, or starts before 6 am and finishes that weekday |
| Saturday / Sunday | Starts at or after midnight before the day and ends by midnight of that day |
| Public holiday | As for Saturday, on a public holiday |
| Night-time sleepover | Starts before midnight, finishes after, at least 8 hours, and the worker can sleep |
If one worker’s shift crosses two bands, the higher amount applies to the whole shift. For group supports, divide the limit by the number of people in the group. Public holidays are New Year’s Day, Australia Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day, the King’s Birthday holiday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and any other day or part-day declared a public holiday where the support is delivered.
Travel, cancellations and non-face-to-face work
These rules are not in the new schedule; the latest published version is in the 2025-26 Pricing Arrangements:
- Provider travel: up to 30 minutes per trip in MMM 1–3 and up to 60 minutes in MMM 4–5, at the support’s hourly rate or lower; vehicle costs up to $0.99 a kilometre plus tolls and parking. Only for items that allow travel, and only if the participant agreed in advance. Use the travel calculator.
- Short notice cancellations: up to 100% of the agreed fee when the participant gives less than 7 days’ notice (support worker supports) or less than 2 clear business days (other supports), or doesn’t show, if your service agreement includes it and you couldn’t find other paid work.
- Non-face-to-face: work that is part of a specific support for that participant, such as writing progress reports for other providers, can be claimed where the item allows it and the service agreement says so. Admin such as service bookings, rostering and making claims is covered by the price limit and can’t be claimed.
We’ll update this page when the NDIA publishes the new claiming guidance.
Find the item and its limit
Look up the items you use in the NDIS price guide or the support item numbers table, then make the invoice. The invoice generator checks each line against the limit and the day of the week.
Questions
Is the old Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits guide still valid?
The price limits now come from the NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27, effective 24 September 2026. The 2025-26 guide is still the latest published version of the claiming rules, such as travel and cancellations, until the NDIA publishes updated guidance.
Did prices change on 24 September 2026?
For every item we compared, the prices in the schedule match the NDIS Support Catalogue 2026-27 currently published on ndis.gov.au, which applies from 1 July 2026.
Do price limits apply to self-managed participants?
No. The schedule says the maximum amounts apply when funding is NDIA-managed or plan-managed.
